I went for a ride to my boat which is in Portland, Ontario just south of Smiths Falls. I loaded up my bike with the Wolfman Luggage with items to stay the night on my boat, including clothing, food, and drinks.
The trip there was rather uneventful and I made sure I followed the speed limit judiciously so as to not get anymore tickets. When I arrived I unloaded the bike under a lot of curious eyes. Normally everyone has a whole bunch of gear in their car and here I am with only a small cooler and some luggage on a motorcycle.
After unloading the bike I drove it to a parking space and covered it for the night. I had a great day on the boat, washing and waxing and drinking and socializing with my boating neighbours. It was a lot of fun, with great people, a good supper cooked by a neighbour who happened to of been a cook in the military.
After completing some early morning waxing I packed up the motorcycle and headed for home as I had to take my niece out for her 20th birthday. Just after I left and got maybe 2 KM down the road I realized I had not buckled up the right hand saddle bag. I pulled onto a town road and attached it properly. Unfortunately, when I was getting ready to leave I slowly dropped the bike on its left side. Luckily there was no serious damage due to the cushioning that the bags provided. All I had to adjust later was the left fog lamp.
At the time however I had a minor fuel spill and I could not restart the bike. after taking off the saddle bags and beginning to take of the covers to check the fuses I realized that the bike was still in gear and hence the reason for the cut out preventing starting. Putting the bike in neutral, and holding in the clutch and the bike roared to life.
I had no further incident on the way home and I had an awesome evening with my son taking out my niece out for a birthday supper.
